Electrical

Overview

The team of Electrical Engineers and designers at Dell Consulting has over a century of combined work experience. Three LEED Certified Licensed Professional Engineers and an experienced design and drafting staff are ready to provide Consulting Services for any electrical need or related project. We utilize the latest Autodesk software for two dimensional drawings or three dimensional modeling as dictated or desired by the Client.

Power

The team has current and relevant experience in design of electrical power systems from the most complex power generation systems to the simplest electrical distribution systems. All designs are compliant with the latest applicable Codes and specifically the National Electrical Code (NEC). Dell Consulting is regularly involved in the following design element:

  • Medium Voltage Distribution
  • Medium Voltage Coordination Studies
  • Emergency Generation
  • Co-Generation
  • Uninterruptable Power Supplies
  • N+1, N+2 Power Distribution Systems
  • Photovoltaic Power Systems
  • Low Voltage Power Distribution
  • Over-Current Protection Coordination Studys
  • Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis and Reports
  • Short Circuit Analysis
  • Voltage Drop Calculations and Reports

Lighting

The standard project incorporates lighting design. The Dell design team utilizes the latest Lighting Design software to simulate and model the actual lighting conditions for the project. Space by space reports are generated for recording photometric and power density information. If desired by the Client, daylight harvesting, automatic scene controls, dimming, occupancy sensing, or other control functions can be integrated into the design. In addition, all projects are reviewed by the team for compliance with the latest Energy Conservation Codes.

Lighting projects include:

  • Office lighting
  • Retail lighting
  • Theatrical lighting
  • Sports Field lighting
  • Parking Lot lighting
  • Roadway lighting

Other Systems

Dell Consulting analyzes each project as defined in NFPA 780 to determine the need for lightning protection. Complete lightning protection design documents and specifications are provided as needed for each project. Our team can also provide assistance in considering alternate means for protection from abnormal events on the power distribution system. Surge Protection devices, lightning arrestor systems, uninterruptable power sources and power conditioners are a few of the options considered to suit the Client’s special requirements.

The Dell Team also offers complete Fire Alarm System design and documentation as required by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72: National Fire Alarm Signaling Code and as a complement to the Life Safety System design requirements.
